Ang Saya sa Sangyaw Festival!  Sangyaw Festival is a religious and socio-cultural event in the Philippines. It was revived in 2008 by the city government of Tacloban, Philippines. Sangyaw means "to herald news" in Waray language. Various festival-participants from different parts of the country participate in this tribal procession. ORIGIN The Sangyaw festival is religious in origin because it symbolizes a ritual of thanking Sto Nino for all the blessing he showered upon us. The Sangyaw means " To announce or herald a news" in the Waray dialect. It was made by Imelda Marcos in 1976 and was abolished by Cori Aquino on 1986.
